The pounding of a forge. Poured steel. Railway cars
leaving an assembly line. The sounds that flowed
through the town of Trenton, Nova Scotia for over 125
years are no more.

For Halifax, Nova Scotia-based musician Heartbreak
A Stranger (a name taken from the Bob Mould
song), growing up and seeing Trenton move from a
bustling town to one where he saw the effects of
tough economic times was the inspiration for the
Trenton EP.

Recorded in Halifax, this 7-song EP is best described
as a ‘musical postcard to Trenton’. From the straight
ahead rock sound of the single ‘This Town’, to the
spoken word of ‘A Conversation’, to the epic sound of
‘Lament’, the Trenton EP covers a lot of musical
ground in a 20-minute span and draws from the influ-
ence of Bob Mould, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and more.

The songs on the Trenton EP reflect not just Trenton
but, any town trying to survive the changes in a global
economy. The Trenton EP tells its own story in words
and music.
